5 Makeup Tips From A Professional Artist

Getting married is supposed to be the best time of your romantic life, but without proper prep it can be something of an organizational nightmare. Your wedding is possibly the most-photographed day of your life and every bride deserves to look flawless on their wedding day. Here is what the talented and sweet, Dina Kloss with Embrace Your Face Artistry has to say to make sure you you get the most from your wedding makeup.

  1. BOOK A TRIAL

During the preview you should be open to and intentional about discussing skin care leading up to one of your most photographed days. Good skin care and skin prep is one of the most important things every good makeup artist considers and implements.

  2. RESEARCH IDEAS

Look through instagram and Pinterest to get some inspiration. Your artist should ask you questions to really understand what it is about each look that you like. And then, trust your artist to express that on YOUR face considering your complexion, face and eye shape, etc.

  3. TRY FALSIES

Your preview is a GREAT opportunity to take it up a notch and try something new! Get those lashes on at your trial! Trust me, they look INCREDIBLE in photographs and if your artist takes the time to do it right, they will be comfortable for you and last all night long for you to be fabulous and fancy!

  4. AIRBRUSH V.S. TRADITIONAL MAKEUP

Airbrush is NOT for everyone. Trust your artist. If she/he is good, both methods of application will give you an "airbrushed" picture perfect look! And if she/he is using the right products, tools and process, BOTH will last as you dance the night away!

  5. YOUR MAKEUP ARTIST IS AN ARTIST, NOT A MAGICIAN

There are MANY tricks that she can do using makeup (make you look younger, thinner,  flawless, and FABULOUS) but she CAN NOT slow down or stop time, make certain things disappear etc. So, please be patient with and respectful of the time schedule laid out and any obstacles that she/he may need to overcome (like, watery or sensitive eyes, extra texture that take a little more TLC and patience etc)
